Taiwan Tour 2025 - Concerts, Recordings & Masterclasses

This unique trio unites Taiwanese singer Tzuting Tsai, Swiss pianist Robinson de Montmollin, and guitarist Christian Zatta, blending diverse cultures and experiences from New York to Switzerland and Taiwan. With original compositions and an intimate voice-piano-guitar sound, the project offers a rich artistic and cultural exchange.

Launching in May 2025, the tour includes 10 concerts, masterclasses and an album recording in Taipei, aiming to connect Swiss creativity with new audiences abroad.

  • Tzuting Tsai

    Tzuting Tsai is a Taiwanese singer and pianist who started singing and playing piano at four and later picked up the violin at ten. She explored classical music, jazz, and musical theater, studying classical voice with Joan Caplan and jazz with Kate McGarry, Charenee Wade, and Theo Bleckmann. Tzuting also trained in piano with Jeb Patton.

    She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a Master’s in Jazz from Queens College. In 2018, Tzuting joined the choir of St. John the Divine Cathedral and the Oratorio Society of New York, performing at venues like Carnegie Hall and collaborating with MET Opera soprano Susanna Phillips. She performs regularly in Taiwan and New York at concerts, private events, weddings, and services.

  • Robinson de Montmollin

    Robinson de Montmollin, born on December 28, 1993, in Geneva, is a Swiss pianist, composer, arranger, and teacher. He has performed extensively as both a bandleader and sideman. After earning a Bachelor’s degree from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2017, he completed a Master’s in Performance at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, supported by several foundations. There, he studied piano with Ted Rosenthal and Phil Markowitz and took lessons with Dave Liebman, Jim McNeely, and others.

    In 2022, Robinson released his debut group album, My Imaginary Friend, featuring German musicians and drummer Jorge Rossy. He also co-leads the “New York Duo” with guitarist Christian Zatta, releasing albums in 2022 and 2024. In 2017, he won first prize at the Langnau Jazz Nights Piano Competition.

  • Christian Zatta

    Christian Zatta, born in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1993, is a guitarist, composer, bandleader, touring musician, and teacher based in Zurich. He holds Master’s degrees in Performance & Composition and Music Pedagogy from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where he studied with top jazz musicians like Roberto Bossard and Jesse Van Ruller.

    Christian has spent time in New York (2018, 2020, 2024) studying with renowned artists such as Mike Stern, Gilad Hekselman, and Ben Wendel. An experienced performer and recording artist, he has played over 450 concerts across 12 countries and released 11 studio albums. His main project, NOVA, is a trio presenting audiovisual shows in planetariums and multimedia venues, often collaborating with chamber orchestras.
